It's easy to see why the show isn't well received by most due to the very raw production details and value but that's what I have come to appreciate. I watched all six seasons in under a month and then spent the last year watching them all over again and again and again, never tiring of it. I didn't expect the tidal wave of love that came. It's easy to see why the show It took me five years to park my butt on a sofa and watch the show.

Overall a fine combination of character development, plot advancement and action. It took me five years to park my butt on a sofa and watch the show. The cast does a fine job throughout and the effects are impressive, especially during the battle scene. The episode gives us some nice character progression as Arya changes plans when she hears the news of Winterfell and John leaving Sansa in charge when he prepares to visit Daenerys. As is often the case there are questions of trust notably whether it will be safe for John to go to Daenerys given her family's history. We continue to learn more about various alliances and plans for the upcoming war but more importantly we get a really exciting seaborne battle where characters fight aboard burning ships at night.

I enjoyed the season opener but thought this was even better. Finally Yara's fleet is ambushed and she must face her uncle. Elsewhere Arya meets an old friend and learns that the Starks once again control Winterfell and Sam risks his position to try to save Jorah Mormont. He is cautioned against this by Sansa and other northern leaders but feels he must go when he learns there is dragon glass under her castle something that will be needed if they are to defeat the threat from the north. They won't be enough though so Daenerys sends a message inviting John Snow to join her forces. KGF VissersĪs this episode opens we learn who is allying themselves with Daenerys these include those formally allied with rivals such as Melisandre and Lord Varys those with personal reasons for fighting against Cersei such as Olenna Tyrell and Ellaria Sand as well as well as Yara Greyjoy and her brother Theon.

Euron's fleet crushes Yara's, killing Obara and Nymeria and capturing Ellaria, Tyene and Yara, only Theon, experiencing flashbacks as Reek, jumps overboard. Samwell performs a forbidden surgery on Jorah's 'greyscale' infection. Cook Hot Pie tells Arya the Boltons are smashed by Jon, the new King in the North, who leaves Sansa in charge at Winterfell as he sails against all Northern lords' advice to request Daenerys' help against the Winter forces after harshly warns Littlefinger to keep off Sansa. Qyburn shows Cersei a prototype ballista to kill dragons. Cersei summons several lords, demanding fealty, while Jaime offers to elevate Randyll Tarly as Warden of the South, undoing loyalty to house Tyrell. Jon Snow is haughtily invited to acknowledge 'his queen' Daenerys at Dragonstone, where Grey Worm and Missandei consummate their love.

Tyrion convinces Daenerys, who gruesomely doubts Varys's motivation, to avoid a bloodbath attacking King's Landing, rather sending Theon and Yara's Iron fleet to ship the Dornish army from Sunspear and lay siege with the Tyrell troops, while Unsullied are shipped to Lannister home Casterly Rock.
